NEW MOON - Vision Quest
This Ritual Vision Quest for the New Moon is created with the idea and the possibility of using the energies of a New Moon in two ways, either to call in a Vision about your Future Direction in any area of your Life or to call in a Vision about truth to get an answer to a particular question you might have.
TIMING: New Moon in Aquarius, Sagittarius, Gemini or Capricorn.
Ritual Vision Quest
READ through everything before you begin. It is a little more complicated but very powerful. Do it in a safe way. You can do it any time on the New Moon day.
You need:
* To decide what Vision you want to call in or what question you want to ask
* A white or blue candle
* At least one or more of these herbs to call in a Vision: Mugwort, fennel seeds or thyme
* Optional, add rose petals for Visions about Love, Mint for Visions of Truth. About I tbsp each.
* 1 Charcoal Tablet(the ones you use for hookah) in a safe fire proof container such as a sea shell or a metal bowl. Make sure you have ventilation where you are going to sit so that there is not too much smoke gathering from the herbs. (YOU NEED TO LIGHT THE CHARCOAL TABLET ON THE STOVE BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR RITUAL)
* A mortar to crush your herbs in or a bowl of some sort, you can also crush the herbs with your fingers
* A bowl of water for scrying or a crystal ball
* Salt for casting a circle
* Pen and Paper, your Journal
* Incense
DO LIKE THIS!
* Get all of your props ready. Sit somewhere where you can see the Moon from the window or on your balcony.
* Light your candle and call in your Guides and Ancestors for support and protection. TELL THEM your intention for this Vision Quest.
* Cast a circle of salt around you while chanting: "This circle is for protection". SMUDGE yourself and the circle.
* Connect with the Moon. Write your question or what type of Vision you want to call in on a piece of paper. Burn the paper and put the ashes in your mortar or bowl. You are going to blend the ashes with your herbs.
* Take your herbs and blend them in your mortar. You can use only one herb or more. Chant your intention while you blend and crush your herbs.
* When you have blended and crushed your herbs with the ashes of your question. Hold the mortar in both hands towards the Moon and ask her to bless your Vision Quest.
* Drizzle a little bit of your herb blend on top of the charcoal tablet while chanting your intention. You do not need to use too much as you do not want the fire alarm to go off. Smudge yourself by catching the smoke with your hand. Drizzle a little more of the herbal blend from time to time as you continue with the next step, see below.
* Take your bowl of water or crystal ball and wait for your Vision or answer. Take your journal and pen and write down what you see, feel, hear, think.
* When you have burned all of the herbal blend. And you have your answer. Send gratitude to all the Spirits involved. Breake the circle by physically moving the salt to the side and the ritual is complete. Let the candle burn out.
