RELEASE RITUAL - with some drawing

Do you have something you need to release? A bad memory, an emotional block, a certain behaviour pattern, a relationship to somebody or an addiction? In this post I will share a Release Ritual which involves a small piace of Art Therapy.


You will draw a visual representation of the thing you want to release and then burn it. Drawing it instead of only writing it down helps connect your unconscious mind into the process so that your release will be more complete. Certain things we can not put into words. Being creative with your release process is a healing process in itself.


Do not worry if you are not an artist. You do not need to draw anything more specific than lines and color dots. Whatever suits your mood.


TIMING: Full Moon, Waning Moon

Creating heals!

You need!


Sit somewhere undisturbed.

Time: 30 min


* A paper

* Pencils, crayons, paint, paintbrush or markers

* A white candle

* A heat resistant plate/cauldron/casserole

* Incense

* Your Journal


Do like this!


* Light your candle and call in your Guides and Ancestors for protection and support. Tell them what you intent to do. Smudge yourself and the space.


* Identify what you want to release. Choose one theme. But the theme in itself can contain many different emotions and experiences. Write on another small piece of paper what you want to release, this will be your mind-map for your drawing later.


Example:


Self-sabotage - things I sabotaged, how I feel when I do it, how I feel after, people I hurt. How I hurt myself self-sabotaging.


Anger- things I am angry at, people I hurt with my anger, anger at the anger, the biggest mistake I did in anger.


An Ex - the bad things that happened between us, something painful he/she said to me, something I dont like that I did in the relationship.


* Really connect with the theme and get into the mood of it.


* Draw, scribble, sketch, paint or dot with as much detail you can in an abstract or symbolic form the things you want to release. Create a Visual representation of the feeling, behavior, memory, relationship that you wish to release.


* When you are finished. Sit a while and contemplate on your piece of art.


* Now tear the first paper with the mind-map apart while chanting "It be released, it be gone, it be forgiven and it be forgotten".


* Burn the paper slips while chanting: "It be released, it be gone, it be forgiven and it be forgotten".


* Now tear the second paper with your drawing apart while chanting "It be released, it be gone, it be forgiven and it be forgotten."


* Burn the paper slips while chanting: "It be released, it be gone, it be forgiven and it be forgotten."


* Sit for a while and meditate on what you have released. Meditate or lie down if you want.


* Let the candle burn out.


* Thank all spirits involved. You are done.

It be gone in flames!

Thank you for Reading. You can do this Ritual many times. Dedicate yourself to the whole process. You do not need to draw anything beautiful or artistic. You will anyways burn your creation in the end.
